Open Source Duplicable City Hub - Portal Redesigned and Updated

One Community is designing an open source duplicable city center to save resources and help model a redefinition of how people choose to live. The SEGO Center Duplicable City Hub will function as a recreation center, large-scale dining hall, large-scale laundry facility, and alternative for visitors that might not (at first) be comfortable staying in the earthbag or straw bale hand-constructed homes. As part of One Community’s duplicable teacher/demonstration communities, villages, and cities model, this one building will function as a revenue stream and communal-use and resource-saving replacement of individual kitchens, laundry rooms, and living rooms for all residents of One Community.

Enviroartistic Design

One Community is designed to showcase and share that the Highest Good of All cities of the future will be an artistically built environment that demonstrates a green community is more than just eco-friendly, it's beautifully artistic and more functional as well. To accomplish this, we see the importance of focusing primarily on four foundations: affordable duplicability in accordance with our open source goals, showcasing of the diversity of eco-building methods, demonstrating innovative designs with individual aesthetic beauty, and maximized functionality while each contributing something unique to the recreation aspects of One Community.

One Community Open Source Straw Bale Village Design

The straw bale housing teacher/demonstration community, village, and city model is purposed for open source project-launch blueprinting and building modularly expandable sustainable housing. Using the double torus design we will build the first few units to completion to show what is possible on the small scale, and then add onto those units to demonstrate how this style of communal housing could be expanded as a community or village need for housing expands, adding additional units as necessary while simultaneously improving energy efficiency and creating a growing space protected by new units. The double torus design also allows for easy modification of the internal structure at a later time to connect or separate rooms based on community resident/family needs. The straw bale village model will become an option for ownership and long-term residence for the Pioneers that have been with the project from day 1. When complete, Pod 2 will be the largest straw bale construction in the worl

Complete Map and the First 7 Trees of the Large-scale Production Aquapini are Done!

The open source and free-shared One Community aqaupini planting plan is coming together! After weeks of magic and planning from our botanist and our horticulturalist, back and forth formatting evolution, and clarification on the best way to present the information so it will be usable, the map and first 7 trees are up and ready for viewing! Check out the new page as we are clear we can demonstrate a combination of quality, volume, and food diversity that significantly exceeds what most people have available to them at the grocery store... and open source it so anyone can duplicate and/or evolve our efforts even further: http://www.onecommunityglobal.org/aquapini-and-walipini-planting-and-harvesting/
