Creating a New Earth: One Community Progress Update for the Last Week
One Community is focused on creating a new earth for The Highest Good of All. Open source project-launch blueprinting and free-sharing a model for self-replicating teacher/demonstration communities, villages, and cities to be built all over the world is our path to achieving this. We believe if we make it easy enough, affordable enough, and attractive to enough people, then we can create exponential growth and develop mainstream embracing of these concepts and literally transform life on this planet for everyone. Here is our progress update for the week of April 29th through May 5th, 2013.

One Community Welcomes Luis Rincon to the SEGO Center City Hub Infrastructure Team
One Community is happy to welcome Civil Engineer Luis Rincon to the SEGO Center City Hub team. Luis is a Civil Engineering graduate from California State University with a minor in Psychology. Coming from a family of farmers greatly influenced and shaped Luis’ beliefs of shared responsibility for the common good. Because of his care for others, he began school majoring in Psychology, completed his AA, and then decided to focus on his academic strength in math and receiving his Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering in 2012. Luis believes strongly in sustainable living facilitated by ingenious designs as a path to reduced consumption and this, combined with our shared values of open source contribution and educating others, is what has led Luis to volunteer his knowledge and passion to the engineering aspects of the SEGO Center.

Open Sourcing How Doug Designed Our Sustainable Energy Infrastructure Solar Array Details
Open Sourcing the Design Process: One Community’s sustainable energy infrastructure is just one aspect of our blueprints for self-sufficient and self-propagating teacher/demonstration communities, villages, and cities strategy to be built around the world. Just as we will be showcasing a diversity of eco building methodologies and alternative food production options, so too will we showcase a diversity of alternative energy methodologies ranging from traditional generators to solar, wind, and newer technologies as they become available. Our initial system to supply for the energy needs of Pod 1, our aquaponics systems, and the Center of Peace community center is a tried-and-true 283 kWh photovoltaic solar power system.

Agriculture Sustainability and Seeds – “The Gift,” A 3-Minute Film by Jean-Marc Abela
When it comes to agriculture sustainability, seeds is where it all started – for human civilization and for our daily bread today. Yet, so few are saving seeds these days. Many of us do not even know what the seeds of the food we eat look like. Jean-Marc Abela created a short and beautiful video to share a perspective on seeds and life itself. If you enjoy it, please help by sharing this and voting at the end of the film.

Self-replicating Solution Model that Creates Solution Models: One Community
By now most people know that the necessary resources and technology exist to feed, house, and provide energy for every person on Earth. Self-replicating self-sufficient teacher/demonstration communities, villages, and cities will provide a path to put the necessary technology and resources where they are needed most. For this to happen a working initial teacher/demonstration village with widespread appeal is being created. It will be affordable, applicable across a diversity of cultures, easily accessible, it will open source free-share what is needed so that normal people with average knowledge and little or no experience can duplicate it, and it will have a marketing engine capable of exposing enough people so that duplication by others will begin and exponentially expand implementation of this model around the world.
