Here is our second video blog covering the progress of the last week including progress to our open source Education for Life Program, the SEGO Center City Hub, and the Pod 1 facility that will produce tropical food and function as social space too. One very exciting development from last week that we forgot to mention in the video blog was the publishing of one of our articles by Neale Donald Walsch’s (international speaker and author of the Conversations with God book series) organization called The Global Conversation. The article is called “Creating an Open Source and Free-shared Collaborative Planet” and you can read our blog on it here.

Village Development Plan: One Community Open Source Infrastructure Update

Our open source village development plan continues to move forward. We made significant progress last week on the Pod 1 Tropical Dome graywater processing plans that are now complete to the point of a 60-page document outlining the design, permitting, and use of the graywater system that we can now start detailing for the tropical dome specific designs. We also started 3D renderings of the SEGO Center City Hub and completed what we hope will be the final necessary drawing to now create architectural plans for the aquapini sustainable food infrastructure designs.

One Community Welcomes Luis Rincon to the SEGO Center City Hub Infrastructure Team

One Community is happy to welcome Civil Engineer Luis Rincon to the SEGO Center City Hub team. Luis is a Civil Engineering graduate from California State University with a minor in Psychology. Coming from a family of farmers greatly influenced and shaped Luis’ beliefs of shared responsibility for the common good. Because of his care for others, he began school majoring in Psychology, completed his AA, and then decided to focus on his academic strength in math and receiving his Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering in 2012. Luis believes strongly in sustainable living facilitated by ingenious designs as a path to reduced consumption and this, combined with our shared values of open source contribution and educating others, is what has led Luis to volunteer his knowledge and passion to the engineering aspects of the SEGO Center.
