Video 3 & 4

Spent Friday morning with my son - Met with a new person interested and PERFECT as part of the community. Posted the video Friday night. Spent Saturday and Sunday working on fixing a couple website issues... the Social Networking button now works!... and scripting and producing the final video which is also now done!!

2 Day Struggle

Spent all day Monday (12 hours) and 10 hours today syncing and re-syncing the audio for video 3... still working on this and definitely testing my patience to new levels. I've succeeded three times only to export the file to video format and have it not synced... no reason why. Have give three different workarounds a try and none of them have worked.

Now I'm dropping the video into iMovie and seeing if I can edit the audio and video files together there... amazingly frustrating spending so much time on something and not producing a finished result.

Video 3 Mostly Done - Huge Site Update

Talked to Brian and Tom about the properties. Looking deeper into a third property (closer is good) now that Brian's looks to be going in the wrong direction.

Did a huge site update tonight adding music to the expressing our gifts page here: http://www.onecommunityranch.com/Expressing-Our-Gifts.html, redesigned the home page, and added search buttons on every page that look like this:

This button is amazing in that it uses the power of Google Search and only searches www.onecommunityranch.com!

Very cool.

Promoted the radio show too, had to re-record some of the audio for video 3 because I still don't have the Pod 1 and 2 architectural plans I'm waiting on (will make separate videos for them in the future), and wrote the "this is where we are" e-mail for people contacting us with interest.... which is picking up.

The response we are getting to One Community right now is not surprisingly quite large and quite diverse so we are doing everything we can to keep people informed on the development of the project and how you might help if that is something you are interested in.

Where we are at right now:

We are currently in negotiation on an amazing property that I expect could take several more weeks based on months of getting to this point. This property is beautiful with two ponds, beautiful rock structures, existing structures that would be perfect for those first few months of building, great location, and so much more... That said, we are also looking at two other properties right now and continuing to scan the market for new properties that may become available.

We have and are looking at properties in California, Oregon, Arizona, Utah, Nevada, Colorado and even Montana and New Mexico. This creates a MASSIVE range of where we will actually be building One Community, which is the first of many, and we recognize that this may be an obstacle for some and want to be sensitive to this. What you should do now:

The best thing to do at this stage is to let us know what your interest level is? Fill out the interest form found on the One Community Member Page: http://www.onecommunityranch.com/One-Community-Member.html This form is as much for you as it is for us and it answers the most important questions and allows us to keep a project of this size organized. If location is important to you, let us know. If you have a relevant timeline, let us know that too. As soon as we nail down the location we’ll let everyone know and specifically contact the people that we know it works for to share the details and see if it is a good fit and how you’d like to proceed.

While negotiations on the current property and review of other properties that meet our needs progresses we are continuing to develop the website, create resources, networking, attending classes, courting our investors, and expanding our social networking and effectiveness in the search engine optimization realm. The most successful communities of tomorrow look nothing like the existing communities of today primarily due to the internet - we are aware of this and at the cutting edge of internet technology and marketing.

Wrote a how page that won't be posted until tomorrow and spent all day scripting the audio for the "how" video - recorded and edited it.

Video 2 Done!

Spent all day Wednesday working on Video two. Re-recorded the whole thing, made the visual images, and successfully synced it all up - then the problems started. YouTube for some unknown reason decreased the volume to almost inaudible and after re-uploading it three times and doing about two hours of research on-line I gave up and purchased software to record the screen and internal volume of my computer as a work-around... which I did today.

I also corrected an error that was propagated across all pages, updated the music on this page with a great song played with permission by Michael Garfield (guy's a guitar genius) http://www.onecommunityranch.com/Expressing-Our-Gifts.html and realize I need a "How" page to describe exactly how it all comes together... like a summary of how it all unfolds.

Redesigned the home page to reflect these changes and add the videos - two of which I still need to create, and began the "how" page.

Going to work for another hour on that...

Video 1 Done... Audio for 2 Done too

Logged 15 hours today... got Video one: Why Now posted on You Tube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xEPNxuIZuVw

And recorded the audio for #2 as well as starting on the video.

The rest of my day was networking while working on the videos... mostly through facebook. The fan page is slowly growing: http://www.facebook.com/pages/One-Community/160724370640802 but should pick up speed once I directly start contacting people to let them know what we are up to - personal contact list is expanding by huge leaps and bounds...

Audio for video one done!!

Now hosted on Digg (http://digg.com/news/lifestyle/http_www_onecommunityranch_com) and the audio for video One is done! Spent about an hour on the video already and researched different ways to post it in many more places than just YouTube.

Also got the www.onecommunityranch.com site crawled for the first time since migration (25 pages indexed so far) so Google is now finding us if you search for "One Community Ranch" as the #1 find.

Put in about 15 hours today.

What I've learned today...

Not sure if I could have done it any different but here is the learning of the day:

"When you've got 1000 things to do and you run into a problem you can't solve quickly - rather than do 5 hours of research to figure it out... go to the most knowledgable source you can find, ask for the solution, and work on the other 999 things you've got on your plate until you at least hear back."

Added an amazing social media bar to my site that allows people to share the site on EVERY social media outlet currently available... spent about an hour getting it on every page of the site before I realized it didn't work quite right.. 4 hours of research later I realized the answer I was looking for didn't exist and I had to contact a professional...

Now I'm taking it all off the site and waiting for an answer...
